Project Details
The Cornerstone Campaign supports a $16.2 million project to completely renovate both patient floors and the renal dialysis treatment center at Adirondack Medical Center.
Adirondack Health receives top state and national percentile ratings for patient satisfaction because our caregivers provide compassionate care, despite working in a cramped and dated environment.
Most of our nursing staff are working on patient floors which opened 20 years before they were born. However, their care is so exceptional patients overlook the 1960's décor and infrastructure and the inconveniences of shared showers and inability to regulate the temperature in their rooms. Our extraordinary staff make all the difference. This campaign is about giving our patients and staff an environment which promotes healing, optimal safety, privacy, comfort, and efficiency.
A lot has changed since the 1960's, and it's time our rooms did too.
The $16.2 million renovation project will include:

Spacious, All Private Patient Rooms
Every room will be reimagined to provide a spacious, private healing environment equipped for surge capacity in times of need.

Larger Bathrooms with Showers
Each room will have a larger, accessible bathroom with a private shower.

Increased Infection Prevention
Rooms will be outfitted with the latest infection prevention technology, improved air exchange, and designed to meet optimal safety and efficiency metrics.

Improved Space for Family & Visitors
With larger rooms, our patients' families and visitors will notice improved spaces and have more comfortable experiences.

New Heating & Cooling Systems
Both patient floors will have entirely new heating, ventilation, and air conditioning systems that allow for individual controls in each patient room.

New Windows
New windows will be installed throughout the patient floors to minimize glare, minimize temperature fluctuation, and increase efficiency.

New Renal Dialysis Center
The new renal dialysis center will be built on the ground level to provide a more patient-friendly and accessible location.

Nursing Station Upgrades
Nursing stations will be renovated to include new technologies to improve communications with patient rooms and work flow efficiencies.
